Global Partnership for Education (GPE) | World Bank Group | Youth advocacy brings meals to a rural school (Tanzania)

Education Out Loud empowers civil society organizations in Tanzania to advocate for school feeding programs as a government priority. Through advocacy training, young Tanzanians like Joshua Mpossa have gained the skills to address education challenges in their communities. Inspired by this training, Joshua successfully campaigned for the introduction of a school meals program at his former primary school. In 2023, thanks to his efforts, the school committee, parents, teachers, and community members came together to establish the program, significantly reducing student absences.
Trans.Lieu was engaged by GPE to produce this feature human-interest story of Joshua Mpossa making a positive change in his community.
