Ground Truth Solutions - Bangladesh
In November 2021, Ground Truth Solutions conducted qualitative interviews with persons with mobility and vision impairments from Rohingya refugee and host community populations in Bangladesh with the aim of better informing and supporting agencies in developing disability-inclusive programmes and engagement activities. The report provides insight into how people with disabilities – namely visual and physical impairments – access healthcare in Cox’s Bazar. The report uses seven “personas” to illustrate the perceptions of a group of individuals. These stories combine verbatim quotes chosen based on demographic commonalities among the 33 interviewed people. The accompanying illustrations recreate moments in their journeys and were shared with the community in workshops to ensure accurate representation.
Trans.Lieu was asked to design the report as well as produce a set of cultural appropriate drawings from both the Rohingya and host communities. The full document can be downloaded here: Qualitative report: understanding perceptions of healthcare from people with disabilities
