UN Office of Counter-Terrorism - Crisis Communication Workshop
When a crisis emerges, such as a terrorist incident, there can be a great deal of confusion and misinformation that is shared in the media and by the public. Strategic communication, in particular crisis communication, can help governments to provide accurate, timely and sensitive information and messages, which can address or prevent misinformation, provide leadership and bring communities together.
At the end of May, the UN Office of Counter Terrorism brought together government officials from various IGAD Member States during a three days Strategic and Crisis Communications Workshop, to address the evolving threat of terrorism and violent extremism in the Region, to tackle misinformation and how to respond to crisis situations.
Trans.Lieu was commissioned to produce a set of video snippets, a summary video clip and a set of photographs summarizing the workshop.
