World Health Organization (WHO) - Simulation exercise

Recent disease outbreaks, such as Ebola in DRC and West Africa, demonstrated the vulnerability of health systems to public health emergencies and the need for the development of resilient health systems.

Countries need to be able to effectively respond to a public health emergency while also maintaining high quality core health services. In order to support them to be prepared, simulation exercise materials have been developed, including how to handle the media.

We produced a set of three simulation training videos (both in English and French) of media coverage during different scenarios (avian influenza outbreak, mass casualty incident) that is part of a training package to help WHO country offices in the African Region to be better prepared in the event of a major outbreak or incident.
